Samsung EVO Plus microSDXC 512 GB — 160 MB/s read, Class 10 / U3 / V30 / A2

512 GB microSDXCClass 10 / U3 / V30 / A2Read 160 MB/sSD adapter included

The MB-MC512SA/EU is Samsung’s EVO Plus microSDXC card in 512 GB. Samsung rates it at 160 MB/s sequential read, with the Class 10 / U3 / V30 / A2 marks that matter for video recording and for running apps directly from the card. EVO Plus is Samsung’s everyday card — the one that goes into a phone, a tablet or a Switch and stays there. At 512 GB it carries the full set of marks: U3, V30 and A2. Worth stating plainly, because the 64 GB version of the same card is a slower U1, V10 and A1 part. In this line the speed classes genuinely change with capacity, and 128 GB is where the full set begins. It measures 15 × 11 × 1 mm and weighs about 0.25 g. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The rated read speed needs the right reader. Samsung reaches 160 MB/s over UHS-I DDR200, a Samsung extension to the UHS-I bus rather than a standard mode — its own footnote says the figure is achieved “using Samsung readers”. In an ordinary phone, camera, laptop or card reader slot the bus tops out at the standard UHS-I SDR104 rate of about 104 MB/s, and that is what you will see. The card is fully compatible either way; only the headline number changes.

Best For

✓ A phone or tablet you never want to run out of space on
✓ 4K video on a phone or an entry-level action camera
✓ A large Nintendo Switch or handheld game library
✓ A camera that takes full-size SD, via the bundled adapter

Key Features

512 GB at the value tier
This is the size where a card stops being a stopgap. Enough for a full handheld game library, a long holiday of 4K footage, or years of phone photos without ever swapping cards — at EVO Plus prices rather than PRO Ultimate ones.

U3, V30 and A2 — at this capacity
The 512 GB card carries the full set: U3 and V30 for sustained 4K recording, A2 for random access when Android runs apps from it. The 64 GB version of the same product does not, which is the most common mis-sale in this range.

160 MB/s read at a sensible price
EVO Plus reads at 160 MB/s against PRO Plus at 180 and PRO Ultimate at 200. In a phone or a console none of the three can exceed the standard UHS-I bus anyway, so for most people this is the sensible place to spend.

Samsung does not publish a write speed
Samsung’s own UK and Spanish pages give write only as “lower than read speed”, and the datasheet omits it. Third-party listings routinely invent a figure. We leave it blank rather than guess, and the V30 mark is what actually guarantees your sustained write floor.

Six-proof protection — on Samsung’s own tests
Water to 1 m for 72 hours, −25 to 85 °C, airport X-ray to 100 mGy, 15,000 gauss, 5 m drops and 10,000 insertions. Samsung’s internal claims; no IEC or ISO standard is cited.

Warranty
Warranty 1-Year Warranty (Singular)
Samsung Term Samsung publishes a 10-year limited warranty on the card and 1 year on the bundled SD adapter. Samsung’s own term is stated here for information; Singular’s direct warranty is 1 year.
Important Exclusion Samsung’s memory-card warranty expressly does not cover dashcam, CCTV, surveillance or other write-intensive continuous-recording use. For those, a PRO Endurance card is the correct product.
Not Published by Samsung
Endurance / TBW Not published. Samsung publishes no terabytes-written or lifespan figure for this line. The 10,000 figure above is insertion cycles.
Random IOPS Not published. The A1/A2 marks imply SD Association minimums, but Samsung publishes no IOPS numbers of its own.
Other Omissions NAND type and layer count, controller, MTBF and UBER are not published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no write speed in the specifications?
Because Samsung does not publish one for EVO Plus at any capacity. Its pages say only that write is lower than read, and the datasheet leaves the row out. The V30 mark is the meaningful guarantee: a sustained minimum of 30 MB/s.
Is the 64 GB version the same card?
No, and this catches people out. The 64 GB EVO Plus is U1, V10 and A1; 128 GB and above are U3, V30 and A2. If you need V30 for a camera, do not buy the 64 GB expecting the same marks.
Will I really get 160 MB/s?
Only through a reader supporting Samsung’s DDR200 mode. In a phone, console or standard laptop slot the card runs at roughly 104 MB/s — the ceiling of the standard UHS-I bus, not a fault with the card.
Is it worth paying more for PRO Plus at this size?
If the card will live inside a phone or a Switch, no — the bus limits both to the same speed. If you regularly empty 512 GB of footage through a fast reader, PRO Plus at 180 MB/s and PRO Ultimate at 200 MB/s will save you real time.
Can I use it in a dashcam or CCTV camera?
It will work, but Samsung’s warranty explicitly excludes dashcam, CCTV, surveillance and other continuous-recording use. Those need a PRO Endurance card, which is built and warranted for exactly that.
Singular Expert Insight
Two things are worth knowing here. First, be careful with old figures: earlier EVO Plus generations were quoted at 95–100 MB/s and those datasheets still circulate, so a listing showing “100 MB/s” for this part number is out of date rather than a different product. Second, Samsung renamed its microSD range in 2026 — T7 and T9 now sit where EVO Plus, PRO Plus and PRO Ultimate did. The specifications carried across, but the new cards ship with a 3-year manufacturer warranty against EVO Plus’s 10. On protection, the older name is the stronger one — and at 512 GB, where the card represents real money, that difference is worth weighing. Browse our SD and microSD card range, or a card reader if you want the rated speed on a laptop.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want a large, dependable everyday card for a phone, tablet or Switch, with the full U3 / V30 / A2 set and an SD adapter in the box.

Skip it if

You empty the card through a fast reader every day (PRO Plus or PRO Ultimate will be quicker), or you are buying for a dashcam or CCTV recorder — that needs PRO Endurance.

Also consider

PRO Plus at 180 MB/s for a modest step up, PRO Ultimate at 200 MB/s for the fastest Samsung makes, or the 256 GB EVO Plus if 512 GB is more than you need.
