Samsung Galaxy A57 5G — 256GB, 8GB RAM, Awesome Navy
256GB storage8GB RAM6.7″ 120 HzIP68
The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G (SM-A576BDBDEUB) is a 6.7-inch Android smartphone with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, in Awesome Navy. undefined Samsung commits to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, with security support published as running to 31 March 2032.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Check the generation before you order. The Galaxy A57 5G is SM-A576B and sits one digit away from the Galaxy A56 5G, SM-A566B, which is the 2025 model. The two look alike and every accessory name repeats across them, but cases and screen protectors are not interchangeable — Samsung publishes different film dimensions for each. If you are replacing an A56, budget for new accessories. No charger is included. Samsung ships this phone with a cable and the documentation but no mains adapter, so budget for one if you do not already have a suitable USB-C charger. Unlike the cheaper A-series models, this one supports eSIM — Samsung lists SIM plus SIM, SIM plus eSIM, and dual eSIM.
Best For
✓ A main phone that has to last several years
✓ Photography with a real ultra-wide rather than a token one
✓ Anyone who wants IP68 rather than splash resistance
✓ eSIM users and frequent travellers
✓ Fast charging without carrying a laptop charger
✓ Replacing a flagship without paying flagship money
Key Features
6.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus at 120 Hz
Super AMOLED Plus with Vision Booster at 120 Hz, in a 6.9 mm body weighing 179 g. Samsung does not publish a peak brightness figure for the A57, so we do not quote one — but Vision Booster is its outdoor-visibility processing and it is the feature that matters in Cyprus sunlight.
A 12 MP ultra-wide, not a 5 MP one
The main camera is 50 MP at F1.8 with optical stabilisation, and behind it sits a genuine 12 MP ultra-wide. That is the specification that separates the A57 from the models below it, where the ultra-wide drops to 5 MP and becomes a camera you use once. A 5 MP macro and a 12 MP front camera complete the set, with 4K recording at 30 fps.
IP68 and 45 W charging
IP68 is an immersion rating rather than a splash rating, which is the durability step up from the A17 and A27. Charging runs at up to 45 W with Super Fast Charging 2.0 — Samsung publishes 60% in half an hour — though you will need a charger, because none is included.
eSIM, Wi-Fi 6E and six years of updates
Samsung lists dual SIM, SIM plus eSIM and dual eSIM configurations, alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0. Software support runs to six OS upgrades and six years of security patches, published to 31 March 2032.

Singular Expert Insight
The A57 is where Samsung’s mid-range stops making the compromises you notice. IP68 rather than splash resistance, a 12 MP ultra-wide rather than a 5 MP one, 45 W charging rather than 25 W, eSIM support, Wi-Fi 6E, and a 6.9 mm body at 179 g. Behind all of it sits six years of security updates published to March 2032, which is what decides whether a phone bought today is still safe to bank on in five years. Two honest notes. Samsung publishes no chipset name and no brightness figure on the A57 product pages, so anything you read quoting an Exynos number or a nits figure came from somewhere other than Samsung. And there is no microSD slot — pick the storage carefully, because you cannot add to it later. If you want to compare it against the rest of what we carry, the range is in mobile phones, and cases and films for it in phone cases.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a main phone for several years: 120 Hz, IP68, a real ultra-wide camera, 45 W charging, eSIM and security patches into 2032.
Skip it if
You need a memory card slot or wireless charging — the A57 has neither. Skip it too if a charger in the box was part of the plan.
Also consider
Samsung Galaxy A27 5G if the budget is tighter and IP64 is enough. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 if you want a foldable with wireless charging. A Samsung case and screen protector cut for the A57 specifically.
