The Samsung MLT-R204 is an original Samsung imaging drum unit rated for approx. 30,000 pages, made for the Samsung ProXpress M3325, M3825 and M4025 series monochrome laser printers. It suits offices running these ProXpress printers that need to replace the imaging unit when the printer reports end of life.
Samsung printing supplies are now sold and supported by HP, which is why it is listed under the HP part number SV140A. The imaging unit is separate from the toner: you replace it far less often than the toner cartridge.

- A drum is a long-life part: it is not replaced with every toner cartridge. Its rated life depends on how you print — many short 1–2 page jobs wear it faster than long runs.
- Toner and imaging unit are separate on these printers — replacing the drum does not replace the toner.
- Store unopened drums flat in their original packaging, away from direct sunlight and heat, and open the sealed bag only when you install it — the drum surface is light-sensitive and should not be touched.
- Before ordering, check the code printed on the drum currently in your printer, or the supplies page of the printer menu — matching that code is the fastest way to be sure.
What Will Not Work
- Printers that are not on the compatible list below, even models with a similar name — supply codes are model-specific.
- It does not contain toner — the black toner cartridge is a separate purchase.
- Smaller Samsung Xpress (SL-M2xxx) or older ML/SCX printers — they use different drums or combined toner-drum cartridges.
