The MB-MK512T is Samsung’s P9 Express at 512 GB — a microSD Express card, which is a different thing from every other microSD on this site. Instead of the UHS-I bus it runs PCIe Gen 3 ×1 with NVMe 1.3, reaching 800 MB/s sequential read in a host that supports it. It is the card type the Nintendo Switch 2 requires, and Samsung names that console directly. 512 GB is the largest capacity in the line.

Read this before you buy — the card behaves as two different products depending on the device.
In a microSD Express host (Nintendo Switch 2, and Express-capable readers) it runs on PCIe and reaches 800 MB/s. In an ordinary microSDXC slot — almost every phone, camera, drone and laptop — it falls back to legacy UHS-I mode at 90 MB/s. Samsung publishes both figures side by side and states that “transfer speeds may be limited to UHS-I speeds depending on the host device’s compatibility”. The card is compatible with normal slots; it just is not fast in them. If your device is not an Express host, a T7 or PRO Plus card will be faster than this one and cheaper.

Samsung names the Nintendo Switch 2
Directly, on its own product pages. The Switch 2 requires microSD Express, and an ordinary microSD card — however fast — will not work for game storage on it. That single fact is the main reason this product exists, and 512 GB is the biggest it comes.
Random performance, published for once
Unusually, Samsung publishes a full IOPS table. In Express mode: 65K read / 52K write random 4K at QD32. In UHS-I fallback: 2K. Random performance is what determines game load times, and the gap between the two modes is far larger than the sequential figures suggest.
U3 and V30 describe the fallback, not the Express mode
A card doing 800 MB/s carrying the same V30 mark as a 90 MB/s one looks like an error. It is not: the UHS speed classes apply to the legacy UHS-I path. Note it is U3 and A1 — several listings say U1 or A2, and both are wrong.
Narrower limits than a UHS-I card
0 to 45 °C operating and a 1 m drop rating, against −25 to 85 °C and 5 m on Samsung’s UHS-I lines. Worth knowing before it goes anywhere hot or gets carried loose.
