Samsung T7 microSDXC 512 GB — 170 MB/s read, Class 10 / U3 / V30 / A2

512 GB microSDXCClass 10 / U3 / V30 / A2Read 170 MB/sClass 10 / U3 / V30

The MB-MB512T/WW is Samsung’s T7 microSDXC card in 512 GB. Samsung rates it at 170 MB/s sequential read, with the Class 10 / U3 / V30 / A2 marks that matter for video recording and for running apps directly from the card. T7 is part of the new range Samsung launched in 2026 to replace EVO Plus, PRO Plus and PRO Ultimate. It is the everyday card for phones, tablets and gaming handhelds, and it is the line that goes furthest: T7 runs to 1 TB while T9 stops at 512 GB. One change buyers should know about, which we have put in the specifications rather than the small print: the T-series carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty where the cards it replaces carried 10. It measures 15 × 11 × 1 mm and weighs about 0.25 g. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The rated read speed needs the right reader. Samsung reaches 170 MB/s over UHS-I DDR200, a Samsung extension to the UHS-I bus rather than a standard mode — its own footnote says the figure is achieved “using Samsung readers”. In an ordinary phone, camera, laptop or card reader slot the bus tops out at the standard UHS-I SDR104 rate of about 104 MB/s, and that is what you will see. The card is fully compatible either way; only the headline number changes.

Best For

✓ A phone, tablet or handheld you never want to run out of space on
✓ 4K video on a phone or an action camera
✓ A large Nintendo Switch or handheld game library
✓ Anyone buying into Samsung’s current line rather than run-out stock

Key Features

Samsung’s new mainstream microSD
T7 replaces the EVO Plus and PRO Plus generation in Samsung’s 2026 range, sitting below the faster T9. It runs the full set of marks — Class 10, U3, V30 and A2 — at every capacity from 128 GB to 1 TB, which the outgoing EVO Plus did not.

The line with the largest ceiling
A quiet detail that catches people out: T7 goes to 1 TB, T9 stops at 512 GB. So the mainstream line, not the fast one, is the one to buy if you want the maximum capacity Samsung offers in microSD.

170 MB/s read — with the right reader
Samsung reaches 170 MB/s over its DDR200 extension to the UHS-I bus. In a phone, camera or standard laptop slot expect about 104 MB/s, which is the standard bus ceiling. See the compatibility note above.

Samsung withdrew the write figure — and we will say so
Its regional pages quote 130 MB/s, but datasheet v1.1 has a revision note removing the sequential write row entirely. That is unusual and deliberate. We will not present a withdrawn figure as a specification.

Three years, not ten
We would rather you heard this from us. Samsung warrants T7 for 3 years; the EVO Plus, PRO Plus and PRO Ultimate cards it replaces are warranted for 10. If warranty length is what you are optimising for, the older names are currently the stronger buy.

Capacity & Format
Capacity 512 GB

Bus Interface UHS-I (SDR104, plus Samsung DDR200 extension)
Box Contents Not published by Samsung. Neither the EU product pages nor the datasheet states whether an SD adapter is included with this part number. A footnote limiting adapter warranty to 1 year does appear, but no adapter is listed as supplied — we read that as boilerplate and will not claim one either way. Ask us before ordering if the adapter matters.
Speed & Classes
Sequential Read 170 MB/s — requires a DDR200-capable Samsung reader
Sequential Write Withdrawn by Samsung. Its regional pages quote 130 MB/s, but the official T7 datasheet v1.1 carries a revision note reading, in effect, “remove the sequential write speed” — Samsung actively deleted the row. We publish the read figure and treat the write as page-sourced only, not datasheet-confirmed.

Warranty
Warranty 1-Year Warranty (Singular)
Samsung Term Samsung publishes a 3-year limited warranty on T-series cards (1 year on an SD adapter). Note this is shorter than the 10 years carried by the EVO Plus, PRO Plus and PRO Ultimate lines it replaces. Samsung’s own term is stated here for information; Singular’s direct warranty is 1 year.
Important Exclusion Samsung’s memory-card warranty expressly does not cover dashcam, CCTV, surveillance or other write-intensive continuous-recording use. For those, a PRO Endurance card is the correct product.
Not Published by Samsung
Endurance / TBW Not published. Samsung publishes no terabytes-written or lifespan figure for this line. The 10,000 figure above is insertion cycles.
Random IOPS Not published. The A1/A2 marks imply SD Association minimums, but Samsung publishes no IOPS numbers of its own.
Other Omissions NAND type and layer count, controller, MTBF and UBER are not published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as a Samsung T7 portable SSD?
No, and this is the most common mix-up on this part number. Samsung has sold a T7 Portable SSD for years — a pocket drive with a USB cable. This is a microSD card that happens to share the name. Check the part number: MB- is a memory card, MU- is an SSD.
Why is there no write speed in the specifications?
Because Samsung removed it. Its product pages still show 130 MB/s, but the current T7 datasheet carries a revision note deleting the sequential write row. Rather than repeat a figure Samsung has withdrawn, we publish the read speed and tell you what happened.
Which goes higher, T7 or T9?
T7. It runs to 1 TB; T9 stops at 512 GB. T9 is faster (200 MB/s read against 170), but if you want the biggest microSD Samsung makes, it is a T7.
Why is the warranty only 3 years?
That is Samsung’s published term for the T-series. It is shorter than the 10 years on the lines it replaces, which is a genuine change and not a listing error. Singular’s own direct warranty is 1 year either way.
Does it include an SD adapter?
Samsung does not say. Neither its EU pages nor the T7 datasheet lists box contents for this part number, so we will not claim it either way. If you need the adapter, ask us to check the box before we ship.
Singular Expert Insight
The interesting thing about the 2026 relaunch is that it makes the older stock look better, not worse. A T7 and a PRO Plus at 512 GB carry the same speed classes and near-identical read speeds — but PRO Plus is warranted for ten years and T7 for three. Where T7 clearly wins is consistency and ceiling: Samsung applies U3, V30 and A2 to every capacity in the line, removing the trap that caught buyers of the 64 GB EVO Plus, and it is the only Samsung microSD line that reaches 1 TB. Our practical advice: at 512 GB, if the prices are close, take whichever has the longer warranty; if you think you will want 1 TB later, learn the T7 name now. Browse our SD and microSD card range, or a card reader if you want the rated speed on a laptop.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want Samsung’s current mainstream microSD at a large capacity, with the full U3 / V30 / A2 set, for a phone, tablet, handheld console or action camera.

Skip it if

You want the longest possible manufacturer cover — the outgoing PRO Plus and EVO Plus carry 10 years against this card’s 3 — or the card is going into a dashcam or CCTV recorder.

Also consider

T9 at 200 MB/s if you empty the card through a fast reader, PRO Plus while run-out stock lasts for the 10-year term, or the 1 TB T7 if 512 GB is not enough.
