The SanDisk Extreme PRO CFast 2.0 card is a 512GB professional card for cameras with a CFast slot, published at up to 525 MB/s read and up to 450 MB/s write. Part number SDCFSP-512G-G46D is the 512GB model and the top capacity in the line. The number that matters most on a card like this is neither of those: it is the VPG-130 rating and the 130 MB/s minimum sustained write, a certified floor the card will not fall below while a camera is recording. CFast 2.0 runs on a SATA III interface, which is why it is several times quicker than CompactFlash while using a shell of the same outline.
Compatibility — check before buying:
CFast fits CFast slots and nothing else — this is the mistake that costs money. The card has the same outline as CompactFlash but a completely different connector: a SATA-style edge instead of CF’s pin socket. A CFast card will not work in a CF slot and a CF card will not work in a CFast slot, in either direction, and no adapter bridges them. CFexpress Type A and Type B are different cards again — different dimensions, PCIe and NVMe rather than SATA — so a camera advertising “CFexpress” or “XQD” does not take CFast. Read what your camera manual actually calls the slot; the word is “CFast 2.0” and nothing else will do. You will also need a CFast 2.0 reader for a computer, and none is included — an SD or CF reader will not read this card.
