SanDisk Ultra Luxe 128GB — Metal USB-C Drive at 400 MB/s
400 MB/s read128GBMetal enclosureUSB-C only
The SanDisk Ultra Luxe USB Type-C (part number SDCZ75-128G-G46) is a 128GB flash drive in a solid metal enclosure, reading at up to 400 MB/s over a single USB-C connector. It is the drive to buy when you want the speed of SanDisk’s top USB-C range in a body that will survive being carried loose. Note the compatibility point below: there is no USB-A end. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB-C-only drive — there is no USB-A connector, so it will not fit the rectangular port on an older computer without an adapter. If you need USB-A, the SanDisk Ultra Luxe USB-A is a different product with the part prefix SDCZ74; check the prefix rather than the name, because both are sold as “Ultra Luxe”. SanDisk publishes compatibility as Android 10 or later, macOS 12 or later and Windows 10 or later. As with any USB-C drive, a thick or rugged phone case can prevent the connector seating fully.
Best For
✓ USB-C laptops, including MacBooks
✓ USB-C Android phones and tablets
✓ Moving large photo and video libraries
✓ A drive that lives loose in a bag or pocket
✓ Anyone who has cracked a plastic drive
✓ Fast transfers without carrying an adapter
Key Features
400 MB/s read from 128GB upward
SanDisk publishes up to 400 MB/s sequential read for the 128GB to 1TB models; the 64GB version is rated 300 MB/s, so this capacity is the entry point to the full speed. Write speed is not published by SanDisk, and we do not print a figure the manufacturer has not stated.
A metal enclosure, not a plastic shell
SanDisk specifies a metal enclosure for the Luxe line. It is the practical difference from the cheaper plastic drives: metal does not crack at the connector after a year of being carried loose, and it dissipates heat better during long transfers.
USB 3.2 Gen 1 over USB-C
A single USB Type-C connector running at 5 Gbps. On a USB-C laptop it needs no adapter, no hub and no cable, and it works the same way on a USB-C Android phone.
Small and solid
45.7 x 16 x 11.7 mm and 10.5 g — heavier than SanDisk’s plastic drives precisely because of the metal body, and still small enough for a keyring.

Singular Expert Insight
Between the Luxe and the Slider there is no speed argument at 128GB — both reach 400 MB/s — so the decision is honestly about the body. The metal enclosure is what you are paying for, and it is worth it if the drive lives loose in a bag; if it lives in a laptop port, the lighter Slider puts less leverage on the connector. Both sit in our USB flash drives range. The one thing to check before ordering is the part prefix: SDCZ75 is USB-C and SDCZ74 is USB-A, both sold as Ultra Luxe, and it is an easy mistake to make on a price comparison site. As always with flash, if you intend to work from the drive rather than transfer to it, an external SSD is the right purchase — no USB stick holds its speed through a long sustained write.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Your machines and phone use USB-C, you want the full 400 MB/s, and you would rather have a metal body than the lightest possible drive.
Skip it if
You still use USB-A ports regularly, or you want the lightest drive on your keyring — at 10.5 g this is one of the heavier compact drives.
Also consider
The SanDisk Ultra Slider for the same speed in a lighter retractable body, the Ultra Dual Drive Go if you need USB-A too, or the SDCZ74 Ultra Luxe if USB-A is what you actually want.
