The SAPPHIRE PURE X870A WIFI 7 is a full-size ATX motherboard for AMD Socket AM5 processors, built on the X870 chipset. It carries the connectivity that defines the current generation: a rear USB4 Type-C port running at 40 Gbps with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15 W of power delivery, 5 Gigabit wired Ethernet rather than the usual 2.5, Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4 on an onboard module, and a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot alongside a PCIe 5.0 M.2 socket. Power delivery is a 16+2+1 phase design rated at 55 A per phase, with cooling on both the M.2 sockets and the chipset.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Check three things against your build. This is a Socket AM5 board for Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series desktop processors, and it takes DDR5 only — AM4 processors and DDR4 memory will not fit in either direction. It is full-size ATX at 305 × 245 mm, so it needs a case that takes an ATX board rather than micro-ATX.
