Schwaiger TAE/DSL Plug Adapter, TAE-F Plug to RJ45 Socket (8P2C), for Connecting DSL Modems and Routers, Black
Schwaiger TAE/DSL Plug Adapter — TAE-F to RJ45 (8P2C), Black
The Schwaiger TST4215533 is a TAE/DSL plug adapter with a TAE-F plug on one side and an RJ45 socket (8P2C) on the other, for connecting a DSL modem or router — such as a Fritz!Box or Speedport — to a German TAE telephone wall socket. It is for customers who brought a German router or modem and need to plug it into a TAE outlet.
8P2C means the RJ45 socket has the 8-position RJ45 shape but only two contacts wired — exactly what a DSL or telephone line needs. You plug the router’s DSL cable into the adapter and the adapter into the TAE socket. It weighs 5 g.
What's in the Box
- 1 x TAE/DSL plug adapter (TAE-F plug to RJ45 socket)
- No cable included
What It Means in Practice
- Connects a DSL router’s RJ45 line cable to a TAE-F wall socket
- Useful when moving German DSL equipment between installations with TAE outlets
- Only two contacts are wired — the line pair used by DSL and analogue phone
- You still need the router’s DSL/line cable (not included)
What Will Not Work
- Not an Ethernet adapter — with only 2 contacts it cannot carry a LAN connection
- Does not fit RJ11, BS 1363-style or other non-TAE telephone sockets
- No cable in the box
- Not for ISDN S0 or multi-line setups that need more than one pair
