The SEVERIN FR 2430 is the compact model of the range: a 3.2-litre ceramic-coated basket driven by a 1500 W element, in a brushed stainless steel and black housing. Temperature runs from 80 to 200 °C and the timer goes to 60 minutes with an audible finish signal, automatic shut-off and overheat protection. Six automatic programmes are named on the control panel — fries, meat, chicken, shrimp, vegetables and baking — and everything is operated from an LCD touch display. Non-slip rubber feet keep it steady on the worktop.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? The parts are not dishwasher safe. SEVERIN’s instruction manual states plainly that no part should be cleaned in a dishwasher — wash the basket and holder by hand in hot soapy water once cool. SEVERIN does not publish a maximum food quantity for this model: the 400 g figure that circulates on reseller listings is not a SEVERIN figure and we will not repeat it. Plan around the 3.2-litre basket volume instead, which suits one to two portions. The appliance measures 29 x 40 x 34 cm and the cable is 80.5 cm, so it must sit near a socket with clear space above and behind for the hot air outlet. SEVERIN publishes no noise level and no PFAS or PTFE-free claim — the coating is described only as ceramic.

Between the two SEVERIN fryers we stock, this is the one for a smaller household. Where the FR 2445 XXL takes a whole chicken, the FR 2430 is a 3.2-litre appliance sized for one or two portions — and it is 5 cm narrower and 4 cm shallower, which matters on a short worktop. It also has the better finish of the two: brushed stainless steel against the XXL’s plastic housing. What you give up is the memory function and two programmes. One point that applies to both: neither goes in the dishwasher, and on the larger model SEVERIN’s own English marketing text wrongly says it does. Follow the manual. Both models remain listed by SEVERIN but the current range has moved to newer FR models, so if you want a matching second unit or spares later, ask us and we will check with the distributor.
