The Silex DS-700AC (order code E1599) is a wireless USB device server. It connects USB devices — printers, multifunction printers, scanners, hard drives, card readers, cameras, webcams and USB speakers — to the network, so PCs can use them as if they were plugged in locally through Silex’s SX Virtual Link software. It joins the network over dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi with 2×2 MU-MIMO or over a Gigabit Ethernet port, and has one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port. Security includes WPA3/WPA2 Enterprise and Personal, IP and port filters and a USB connection password. It runs from an external 12 V adapter (max. 5.4 W) and measures 110 × 109 × 27 mm.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Windows only. Silex lists SX Virtual Link for Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2025; macOS and Linux are not listed, so Mac users should ask us first. A USB device shared this way is normally used by one PC at a time. Silex also sells the DS-700, the same device server without Wi-Fi. USB cables are not included. Not sure?
