Silicon Power Blaze B30 16 GB — 90 MB/s Read, Rotating Capless Body
16 GBUSB 3.2 Gen 1, Type-A90 MB/s read / 12 MB/s write5-year Silicon Power warranty
The Silicon Power Blaze B30 is a 16 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive built around a four-way rotating cover rather than a removable cap. Unusually for this class of drive, Silicon Power publishes speeds for each capacity rather than one family figure — and at 16 GB that matters, because the numbers are 90 MB/s read and 12 MB/s write. The swivel is rated for 5,000 rotations and the connector for 10,000 insertions. It weighs 8.3 g.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C end and no adapter supplied, so it will not enter a phone, a tablet or a USB-C-only laptop. Silicon Power’s USB-C drives are the separate Mobile C series. Read the write speed before you buy the small one. Silicon Power measures each capacity, and the results are not flat: 16 GB writes at 12 MB/s, 32 GB at 25, and 64 GB at 28 — reading stays at 90 throughout. So this 16 GB drive is fine to read from and noticeably slow to write to, and the 32 GB doubles the write speed as well as the capacity. If the price difference is small, take the 32 GB. Most brands quote one figure for a whole family and let you assume it applies to the small drives too; here it visibly does not, and Silicon Power says so — which is exactly the information the Blaze B02 and Blaze B05, same brand and same shelf, do not give you at all.
Best For
✓ Carrying documents, spreadsheets and presentations, where 16 GB is enough
✓ Reading files off the drive more often than writing to them
✓ A body with nothing to lose — the cover rotates rather than coming off
✓ Machines and laptops with USB-A ports
✓ Drives that live on a keyring or in a bag and take knocks
✓ Buyers who value a five-year manufacturer term
Key Features
Speeds published per capacity
90 MB/s read and 12 MB/s write at 16 GB, stated by Silicon Power for this capacity rather than borrowed from the largest drive in the range. The 32 GB writes at 25 and the 64 GB at 28 — the figures move, which is how you know they were measured.
Four-way rotating cover
The cover swivels around the connector instead of pulling off, so there is no cap to lose. Silicon Power rates the mechanism at 5,000 rotations and the connector at 10,000 insertions.
Diamond-cut edge
A cut and polished edge on the plastic body. Cosmetic rather than functional, but it is the reason the drive does not look like the cheapest thing in the drawer.
Free SP Widget
Backup, restore, AES 256-bit file encryption and cloud storage, as a free download for the computer. The drive needs nothing installed and has no hardware encryption of its own.

Singular Expert Insight
The Blaze B30 is the drive to point at when someone asks why two sticks from the same brand at the same capacity cost different money. Silicon Power measures each capacity and prints the result, and at 16 GB the result is honest rather than flattering: 90 MB/s read, 12 MB/s write. That transparency is worth a great deal — the B02 and B05 beside it publish nothing at all, so you cannot know whether they are better or worse. What the figures actually tell you here is to consider the 32 GB, which reads the same and writes twice as fast. If 16 GB is genuinely what you need and you mostly read from the drive, this is a well-made stick with a cover you cannot lose and five years behind it. All of them sit in our USB flash drives range. For moving large files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a 16 GB USB-A stick with no cap to lose, you mostly read from your drives, and a five-year manufacturer term appeals.
Skip it if
You write files to the drive regularly — 12 MB/s is slow, and the 32 GB doubles it. Or you need a USB-C connector.
Also consider
Silicon Power Blaze B30 32 GB at 90 / 25 — the better buy in most cases. Blaze B50 for the same measured approach in a retractable body. Silicon Power Mobile C31 if you need a USB-C end.
