Jabra GN1200 CC — One Cord for Most Desk Phones
Universal 8-position switchQD → RJ9Coiled, 2 mPart 88011-99
The Jabra GN1200 CC (part 88011-99) is a universal bottom cord that connects any corded Jabra Quick Disconnect (QD) headset to the RJ9 headset or handset port of most desk phones, including IP hard phones. It is the coiled version, 2 m long.
Instead of buying a different cord for every phone brand, the GN1200 has an 8-position slide that switches the wiring scheme: you simply move the slide until you hear a dial tone. A built-in low-current microphone amplifier (11.5 dB nominal gain) is used on phones that need an amplified mic. Jabra lists the GN1200 as the replacement for the older GN cords 8800-00-01, -03, -20, -25 and -37.
Before you order: For desk phones with a standard RJ9 modular headset or handset port and corded Jabra QD headsets. Not for USB, softphones, mobiles, or phones that need an EHS/DHSG cable.
What's in the Box
- Jabra GN1200 CC universal cord, QD to RJ9 (part 88011-99)
- Headset not included
What It Means in Practice
- One stock item fits mixed phone fleets: the slide covers standard wiring plus Cisco 79xx, Avaya, Nortel, Panasonic, NEC and Ascom/Philips variants.
- Set-up: plug into the phone, set the slide to 1 and move it position by position until you hear a dial tone.
- Works with all corded Jabra QD headsets, so existing BIZ and GN headsets can move to a new phone without a new cord.
- The coiled 2 m cord gives freedom to lean back or stand while staying tidy on the desk.
What Will Not Work
- USB headsets, softphones and mobiles — Jabra marks the GN1200 as deskphone-only.
- Phones without an RJ9 headset or handset modular port (e.g. 2.5 mm or 3.5 mm headset jacks).
- Remote call answering with wireless headsets — that needs an EHS adapter or DHSG cable.
- Non-Jabra quick disconnect headsets (e.g. Poly QD).

Frequently Asked Questions
Which position do I need for my phone?
Start at 1 (standard) and move the slide until you hear a dial tone. Cisco 79xx is usually 2 or 8, Avaya IP and Nortel digital 7.
Does it work with Avaya one-X 9600?
The GN1200 covers many Avaya models through positions 7 and 8, but for Avaya one-X 9600/1600 Jabra makes the dedicated GN1216 cord with mic volume control.
Can I use it on my PC?
No. For a PC or softphone use a QD-to-USB adapter such as the Jabra Link 230.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
If you manage phones from several brands, the GN1200 is the one cord worth standardising on: the slide removes the guesswork of buying phone-specific cords. For Avaya one-X desks the GN1216 is the more tailored option. Matching corded headsets are in our
Office & VoIP headsets range.
✓ Buy it if you need to connect corded Jabra QD headsets to desk phones, especially in a mixed-brand office.
✕ Skip it if your phone has a 2.5/3.5 mm headset jack, you need wireless remote answering, or you are connecting to a PC.
→ Also consider the Jabra GN1200 Smart Cord 88001-99 (straight, 80 cm) version, or the Avaya-specific Jabra GN1216.
