The Socket Mobile SocketScan S840 is one of the smallest and lightest 2D/1D Bluetooth barcode scanners available. At credit-card thickness (1.27 cm) and just 48 g, it slips into a pocket or attaches to a smartphone with the included Universal Klip for true one-handed operation. Despite its compact size, it delivers fast omni-directional scanning of both printed labels and on-screen barcodes — making it ideal for mobile POS, inventory management, field service, and retail checkout.

What is the difference between the S840 and the S740?
Both are ultra-slim Bluetooth scanners. The S840 reads both 1D and 2D barcodes. The S740 reads 1D barcodes only. If you need to scan QR codes, DataMatrix, or any 2D format, choose the S840.
