The STAEDTLER 146 10C (14610C C12) is a cardboard box of 12 hexagonal watercolour pencils in assorted colours: draw with them dry like a normal coloured pencil, then go over the lines with a wet brush to turn them into a watercolour wash. They suit students, hobby painters and anyone who wants painting effects without carrying paints.
STAEDTLER recommends using them on watercolour paper, which takes water without buckling. The 146 10C range runs to 48 colours, so a box of 12 is a solid starting palette.
Before you order: For wash effects use watercolour paper; thin copy paper wrinkles when wet.
