StarTech.com RK15WALLO — 15U Wall-Mount Open Frame Network Rack
15U · 19 inch90 kg capacity30.3 cm mounting depthBlack steel
The StarTech.com RK15WALLO is a 15U, 19 inch 2-post open-frame rack that mounts on a wall and holds up to 90 kg of patch panels, switches and other shallow network equipment. It is the classic choice for a small office, shop or classroom comms point where a floor cabinet would take too much space.
The frame is cold-rolled SPCC steel in black, conforms to EIA/ECA-310-E, and uses square-hole rails with M6 cage nuts. The wall holes are spaced 16 inches apart to line up with typical stud spacing, and the rack ships flat-packed for assembly on site.
Before you order: Maximum mounting depth is 30.3 cm (11.9 in): ideal for patch panels, cable managers and wall-depth switches, but full-depth servers and most UPS units will not fit. Wall anchors are not included — the wall must be able to carry at least four times the equipment weight, per StarTech.com.
What's in the Box
- 2 × vertical rails
- 2 × horizontal brackets
- 60 × M6 screws, 60 × M6 cage nuts, 60 × washers
- 16 × assembly screws
- 1 × instruction manual
- Not included: wall anchors / wall fixing hardware
What It Means in Practice
- 15U of rack space on a wall — enough for several patch panels, a 24- or 48-port switch, a router and cable managers.
- Open frame gives full front and side access for patching and good airflow for switches.
- Heaviest equipment goes at the bottom; StarTech.com recommends mounting the empty rack first and then loading it.
- Cage nuts and screws for 30 mounting positions are already in the box.
What Will Not Work
- Not for full-depth servers, NAS units or UPSs deeper than 30.3 cm.
- No doors, side panels or lock — equipment is exposed; use a wall cabinet in public areas.
- Wall anchors are not supplied and must match your wall construction.
- No shelves, fans or power strips are included.
