StarTech.com SHELF-1U-12-FIXED-V — 1U Vented Cantilever Rack Shelf, 305 mm Deep
1U · 19"25 kg capacityVented surfaceBlack steel
The StarTech.com SHELF-1U-12-FIXED-V is a 1U vented fixed cantilever shelf for 19-inch racks and cabinets that holds up to 25 kg of non-rackmount equipment on a 305 mm (12 in) deep surface. It is sized for modems, routers, Wi-Fi access points, small switches and other devices that come without rack ears.
It is made from 2 mm SPCC commercial-grade cold-rolled steel and complies with EIA/ECA-310-E, so it fits standard 19-inch rails. StarTech.com lists compatibility with EIA-310 racks from APC, Dell, Lenovo and HPE. The vented surface lets air rise through the shelf to the equipment above.
Before you order: StarTech.com sells this shelf in two versions: SHELF-1U-12-FIXED-V (vented) and SHELF-1U-12-FIXED-S. This is the vented model.

What It Means in Practice
- At 1U high it uses the least rack space possible for a shelf.
- A 305 mm depth suits most small network devices and leaves space behind for cables in deeper racks.
- It hangs from the front rails, so keep the load within 25 kg and place heavier items close to the rails.
- Vent slots allow air to pass through, which helps devices that draw air from below.
What Will Not Work
- It does not slide out.
- It will not carry more than 25 kg.
- Tall devices will need more free space above than the 1U shelf itself provides.
- It has no cable management features built in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A 1U, 305 mm shelf is the right size for the small boxes that end up in every network rack. Choose the vented version when the device sits above other warm equipment. More shelf depths and load ratings are in our rack accessories range.
✓ Buy it if you need a slim 1U shelf for light, small devices in a 19-inch rack.
✕ Skip it if your device is deeper than 305 mm, heavier than 25 kg, or needs a pull-out shelf.
→ Also consider the non-vented SHELF-1U-12-FIXED-S, or the 2U CABSHELF for larger devices.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack and the device you want to place on the shelf, and we will check before you order.
