The StarTech.com UNIRAILS1UB is a pair of 1U universal rack rails that bolt into a 4-post 19-inch rack or cabinet, adjust from 61 to 91.4 cm (24–36 in) mounting depth and support up to 90.7 kg, for anyone mounting a server, UPS, NAS or network appliance that shipped without its own rail kit.
Each rail is an L-shaped ledge that fixes to the front and rear posts; the equipment rests on the two ledges and is secured at the front with its own ears. This supports the device along its full depth instead of loading the front ears only.
Before you order: these rails need a 4-post rack with a front-to-rear post distance between 61 and 91.4 cm. Measure post to post before you order — many 600 mm deep cabinets have their rails set closer than 61 cm.

What It Means in Practice
- Fixed shelf-style rails, not sliding rails: the device rests on the rails and is pushed in and out, it does not glide on bearings.
- 1U height, but the ledge supports devices of any height — the rails sit underneath the equipment.
- Good fit for devices sold without rails, such as many UPS units, older servers, firewalls and storage appliances.
- Stationary capacity of 90.7 kg covers most rack UPS units and 1U–2U servers.
- Matte black finish matches black racks and equipment.
What Will Not Work
- 2-post racks, open frames and wall brackets — the rails need front and rear posts.
- Racks with a post-to-post distance shorter than 61 cm or longer than 91.4 cm.
- Pull-out servicing — they are fixed ledges, not telescopic slide rails.
