2-Port Gigabit Midspan PoE+ Injector

The StarTech.com AF221CE-POE-INJECTOR is a two-port Gigabit midspan PoE+ injector. It sits between an existing non-PoE switch and two powered devices, and adds IEEE 802.3af/at power to each of the two links so that access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones up to 100 m away run on one cable. It has four RJ45 ports (two data in, two data plus power out), an external 52 V DC power adapter, surge protection up to 2 kV and Level-4 ESD protection. In practice it powers two PoE devices without replacing the switch.

Compatibility — check before buying:
PoE+ only (802.3af/at). It will not properly power 802.3bt (PoE++) devices that need more than 30 W, such as some PTZ cameras or Wi-Fi 7 access points. It is not a switch: each output needs its own uplink from your existing switch. StarTech.com’s datasheet lists an EU/UK power adapter in the box; it does not publish the total power budget separately. Not sure?
