The StarTech.com UNIRAILS2U is a pair of 2U universal fixed rails for 4-post 19" racks, adjustable from 42 to 105.4 cm between the front and rear rails and rated for 45.3 kg — made for IT teams and AV installers who need to support servers, UPS units or non-rackmount equipment across the full depth of a cabinet.
Unlike a cantilever shelf, the rails carry the load on both the front and rear posts, so heavier and deeper equipment is supported evenly. They are made from cold-rolled steel and follow the EIA-310 standard.
Before you order: These rails need a 4-post rack or cabinet with front and rear rails between 42 and 105.4 cm apart. They will not work in 2-post open frames.

What It Means in Practice
- Heavy or deep devices rest on steel rails front and back, instead of hanging only from their front ears.
- The wide depth range covers most server and network cabinets, from shallow to deep.
- Useful for rackmount equipment that shipped without rails, and for AV gear that needs support at the rear.
- Rails are fixed, so equipment slides in and stays put; they do not extend for service access.
What Will Not Work
- They do not fit 2-post racks.
- They are not telescopic slide rails — equipment cannot be pulled out while mounted.
- They are not rated above 45.3 kg static load.
- They will not fit cabinets with rail spacing below 42 cm or above 105.4 cm.
