StarTech.com WALLSHELF8U — an 8U wall rack with its own shelf
8U 19"Built-in shelf34 kgBlack steel
The StarTech.com WALLSHELF8U is an 8U 19-inch open-frame rack for the wall with a shelf built into the frame. Rack-mount switches and patch panels go on the 19" rails, while a modem, small router or NAS that is not rack-mountable sits on the shelf. The depth adjusts from 30 to 45.7 cm, the frame carries up to 34 kg, and it measures 44.6 x 48.3 cm (H x W) at up to 45.7 cm deep. It weighs 11.1 kg and is finished in black.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The rails have threaded 10-32 holes, not square cage-nut holes — standard M6 cage nuts and screws will not fit; use the 10-32 screws supplied. Capacity is 34 kg, lower than StarTech.com’s heavy-duty wall racks, so it suits light network gear rather than UPS units. It ships flat-packed. Six wood screws and a mounting template are included for timber or stud walls; for masonry you need suitable anchors. Mis-order check: RK812WALLOA is an 8U rack without a shelf, with cage-nut rails and 61.2 kg. Tell us what you plan to install — model and depth — and we check that it fits before you order.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the practical rack for a small office where the ISP modem and a desktop NAS have to live next to a rack switch and patch panel. Keep the load light — 34 kg — and remember the rails are 10-32 threaded. More racks are in our racks and cabinets range and switches in our network switches.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
you want a small wall rack that also holds non-rack devices on a shelf.
Skip it if
you need cage-nut rails, a heavy load rating or a lockable cabinet.
