StarTech.com Under-Desk Keyboard Tray — Clamp-On, Three Heights
No drilling699 x 310 mm12 kg3 heights
The reason most people never fix a desk that is too high is that the fix means drilling into it — and on a rented desk, a hot desk or a nice one, that is the end of the conversation. This tray clamps on instead. Once assembled, it is secured by tightening the clamps by hand, with anti-slip pads that hold it steady and protect the desk surface, and each clamp takes only 46 x 64 mm of desk edge. It fits desks up to 58 mm thick. The platform itself is a proper working surface rather than a shelf: 699 x 310 mm, enough for keyboard and mouse together, holding up to 12 kg, on sliding rails so it pulls out and pushes away. Three height settings put the tray 99, 119 or 140 mm below the desk surface, so you can match your forearms rather than accept whatever a fixed tray gives you. Black, TAA compliant.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Measure two things. First the desk edge: the clamps need a free run of edge and the top must be no more than 58 mm thick — a thick worktop, a bullnose edge or a frame immediately under the lip will stop this before anything else does. Second, the reach: the front of the tray extends up to 216 mm out from the edge of the desk when it is pulled forward, so make sure your chair is not against a wall or a pedestal. Two design touches worth knowing about. The front edge is ergonomically curved for wrist comfort and protrudes about 15 mm when the tray is retracted, which is how you find it under the desk without looking. And there is a 4 mm lip along the back that stops a keyboard sliding off the far edge when you push the tray in — a small thing that saves one expensive accident. On the gaps: StarTech does not publish the product weight or the platform material for this model, so we quote none. StarTech backs it for 2 years and includes free lifetime 24/5 multi-lingual technical support.

✓ Public-sector buyers needing TAA compliance
✓ Desks up to 58 mm thick with a clear edge
Key Features
Hand-tightened, no drilling
Clamps tighten by hand onto the desk edge, with anti-slip pads to hold position and protect the surface. Nothing is drilled and nothing is permanent.
Keyboard and mouse on one tray
699 x 310 mm is a real working area rather than a keyboard shelf, so the mouse comes down to the same height instead of staying on the desk.
Three heights, not one
99, 119 or 140 mm below the desk surface — you set the tray to your forearms rather than accepting a single fixed drop.
Details that matter daily
A curved front edge for the wrists, a 15 mm protrusion so you can find it retracted, and a rear lip so nothing slides off the back.

Singular Expert Insight
Clamp-on is the version of this product most people can actually use: no drilling means no permission needed and nothing left behind when you move. Three heights and a mouse-sized tray are what make it a fix rather than a compromise. See our keyboard accessories and our mouse pads and wrist rests.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Your desk is too high, you cannot or will not drill it, and you want keyboard and mouse together at a height you choose.
Skip it if
Your desktop is thicker than 58 mm, the desk edge is obstructed, or you need a published weight for the tray itself.
Also consider
The Fellowes Underdesk Keyboard Manager if you can screw into the desk, or a wrist rest if the height is already right.
