StarTech.com 2M-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR 2 m DisplayPort to HDMI Cable with Gripping Connectors

4K 60Hz HDR2 m active cableHDMI 2.0b · 18 Gbps

The StarTech.com 2M-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR is a 2 m active gripping-connector DisplayPort to HDMI cable that connects a desktop PC or workstation with a DisplayPort output to an HDMI monitor, TV or projector at up to 4K (3840 x 2160 and 4096 x 2160) at 60 Hz with HDR. It is aimed at offices and IT teams that need one clean cable instead of an adapter plus a separate HDMI lead.

A Synaptics VMR7100 converter inside the cable handles DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b conversion with 18 Gbps bandwidth, 4:4:4/RGB colour, 7.1-channel audio and HDCP 1.4/2.3, and runs without drivers on any operating system. The HDMI plug has a gripping design that resists being pulled out by cable weight or vibration, while the DisplayPort plug latches into the PC.

Compatibility note: This cable is uni-directional: it only works from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display, not HDMI to DisplayPort. For 4K at 60 Hz the display must accept HDMI 2.0 at 4K60.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the 2M-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR pass HDR and 4K 60Hz from my graphics card?
Yes. Any graphics card or motherboard with a DisplayPort 1.2 or newer output can drive 4K at 60 Hz through this cable, and HDR works when the source, operating system and HDMI display all have HDR enabled. At 4K 60 Hz HDR is carried as 8-bit with dithering; true 10-bit HDR is supported up to 2560 x 1440 at 60 Hz.
What is the difference between the 2M-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR and 15F-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR?
They share the same active VMR7100 converter, gripping HDMI plug and 4K 60 Hz HDR support. The 2M-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR is 2 m for desk setups; the 15F-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR is 4.6 m for projectors, wall displays or towers placed further away.
Singular Expert Insight
The 2M-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR is the tidy choice when a desktop has spare DisplayPort outputs but the monitor or TV only offers HDMI: the converter is built into the cable, so there is no dongle hanging off the graphics card. The gripping HDMI plug makes it a good fit for meeting rooms and hot desks where cables get knocked.
✓ Buy it if you need 4K 60Hz with HDR from a DisplayPort desktop to an HDMI screen in one 2 m cable.
✕ Skip it if your source is a USB-C laptop — a USB-C to HDMI cable avoids an extra adapter — or you need 4K at 120 Hz, which requires HDMI 2.1.
→ Also consider the 15F-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR for a 4.6 m run, or the 3M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR with a standard HDMI plug.
