Compatibility — check before buying:
Read the two limits before ordering, because both are deliberate. First, USB-C video (DisplayPort Alt Mode) is not supported — StarTech.com states this explicitly. This cable will not drive a monitor, dock a laptop to a display, or carry Thunderbolt; for that you need a full-featured USB-C or Thunderbolt cable. Second, data is USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps, not 10 or 20 Gbps, so it is fine for syncing a phone or moving documents and wrong for an external SSD. Power is 60 W maximum (3 A): a laptop that needs 87 W or 100 W will charge, but slowly, and a 240 W EPR device will not reach its rated rate. It has no E-Marker for currents above 3 A.
