StarTech.com 4M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR 4 m DisplayPort to HDMI Cable

4K 60Hz HDR4 m active cableHDMI 2.0b · 18 Gbps

The StarTech.com 4M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR is a 4 m active DisplayPort to HDMI cable that connects a desktop PC or workstation with a DisplayPort output to an HDMI monitor, TV or projector at up to 4K (3840 x 2160 and 4096 x 2160) at 60 Hz with HDR. It is aimed at offices and IT teams that need one clean cable instead of an adapter plus a separate HDMI lead.

A Synaptics VMR7100 converter inside the cable handles DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.0b conversion with 18 Gbps bandwidth, 4:4:4/RGB colour, 7.1-channel audio and HDCP 1.4/2.3, and runs without drivers on any operating system. The DisplayPort plug latches into the computer and cage shielding helps reduce electromagnetic interference.

Compatibility note: This cable is uni-directional: it only works from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display, not HDMI to DisplayPort. For 4K at 60 Hz the display must accept HDMI 2.0 at 4K60.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the 4M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR pass HDR and 4K 60Hz from my graphics card?
Yes. Any graphics card or motherboard with a DisplayPort 1.2 or newer output can drive 4K at 60 Hz through this cable, and HDR works when the source, operating system and HDMI display all have HDR enabled. At 4K 60 Hz HDR is carried as 8-bit with dithering; true 10-bit HDR is supported up to 2560 x 1440 at 60 Hz.
What is the difference between the 4M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR and 3M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR?
Only the length and weight differ: the 4M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR is 4 m (160 g) and the 3M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR is 3 m. Both use the same VMR7100 converter with identical 4K 60 Hz HDR performance, so choose the shortest length that reaches without tension.
Singular Expert Insight
The 4M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR is the tidy choice when a desktop has spare DisplayPort outputs but the monitor or TV only offers HDMI: the converter is built into the cable, so there is no dongle hanging off the graphics card. The 4 m length suits desks where the tower sits on the floor or a display is mounted further away.
✓ Buy it if you need 4K 60Hz with HDR from a DisplayPort desktop to an HDMI screen in one 4 m cable.
✕ Skip it if your source is a USB-C laptop — a USB-C to HDMI cable avoids an extra adapter — or you need 4K at 120 Hz, which requires HDMI 2.1.
→ Also consider the 3M-DP-HDMI-4K60-HDR if 3 m is enough, or the 15F-DP-HDMI-4K60-GR (4.6 m) if you want a gripping HDMI plug.
