The StarTech.com CABSCREW1032 is a 50-pack of 10-32 x 12 mm rack mounting screws with matching square-hole cage nuts and a cage nut installation tool, used to fix servers, switches, patch panels, shelves and other rack-mount equipment into 19-inch or 10-inch racks and cabinets that use square-hole rails (the most common type in 19-inch server and network cabinets).
The screws are matte black steel in black with washers pre-installed, so they sit flat against rack ears without scratching them. Enough for 12 devices at four screws each, with spares — ideal for a new cabinet fit-out or for replacing lost hardware.
Before you order: 10-32 is an imperial (UNF) thread used mainly in US-made racks and equipment. It is NOT the same as M5 or M6 and will not engage properly in metric cage nuts. Most European cabinets use M6 — check before you order.

What It Means in Practice
- The right hardware for racks and cage-nut rails specified for 10-32, common in US-built open frames, AV racks and some server cabinets.
- Clip the cage nut into the square hole from the inside of the rail, then fix the device ear with the screw.
- 50 sets are enough for 12 devices at four screws each, with spares.
- Matte black finish blends in with black rails and rack ears.
What Will Not Work
- Metric M5 or M6 cage nuts or tapped metric rails — the threads are different.
- Round-hole or already-tapped rails with the cage nuts (use the screws alone on tapped 10-32 rails).
- Supporting the full weight of a heavy server on screws alone — use the server vendor rail kit.
