StarTech.com 133DISPLAYPORTHDMI21 · DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 · 2 m

8K60 · 4K144Active VMM7100HDR10 · HDCP 2.32 m

The StarTech.com 133DISPLAYPORTHDMI21 is a 2 m active DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter cable that connects a PC graphics card or DisplayPort laptop to an 8K TV, a 4K120/144 Hz monitor or a projector with HDMI 2.1 input. Part number 133DISPLAYPORTHDMI21 uses the MegaChips VMM7100 converter and a 6 mm grey PVC jacket.

It supports 8K60 with DSC, 4K at 144, 120 and 60 Hz, 5120 × 1440 at 60 Hz, HDR10 and HDCP 1.x/2.2/2.3, plus 7.1 audio including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Compatibility note: The cable converts in one direction only, from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display. 8K60 needs a DSC-capable source (for example Intel 11th Gen or newer graphics or a current GPU); with a DP 1.2 source the maximum is 4K60. Apple M1/M2 Macs without a dedicated GPU cannot output 8K60.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the StarTech.com 133DISPLAYPORTHDMI21 give me 4K120 on a TV from my graphics card?
Yes, if the GPU has DisplayPort 1.4 and the TV has an HDMI 2.1 input. For 8K60 the GPU must also support DSC.
Can I use it to connect an HDMI laptop to a DisplayPort monitor?
No. It works only from a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display. The reverse needs an HDMI-to-DisplayPort converter.
Does it work with a Mac?
Macs with DisplayPort output work up to the resolution their GPU supports; Apple M1/M2 systems without a dedicated GPU cannot reach 8K60.
Singular Expert Insight
The 133DISPLAYPORTHDMI21 is the cable to buy when a desktop GPU or dock only has DisplayPort left and the display is an HDMI 2.1 TV or high-refresh monitor. If your source is USB-C, a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 cable avoids the extra conversion; if you only need 4K60, a cheaper passive DP++ to HDMI 2.0 cable is enough. See all HDMI Cables & Adapters.
✓ Buy it if you want 4K120/144 or 8K60 on an HDMI 2.1 display from a DisplayPort 1.4 GPU.
✕ Skip it if your display only needs 4K60, or the source is HDMI.
→ Also consider A passive DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 cable for 4K60.
