Cat8 Shielded Keystone Jack — 6-pack, toolless

Cat8 STP40GBASE-TToolless 180°6-pack

The StarTech.com C8KEYSTP1806PK is a pack of six shielded Cat8 RJ45 keystone jacks. A nickel-plated zinc-alloy shield surrounds the contacts to reduce electromagnetic interference, the cable enters straight from the rear (180°), and termination is toolless. StarTech.com rates the jacks for 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T as well as 10G, 5G, 2.5G and 1G Ethernet, and for PoE up to IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 (100 W). In practice they are for short, high-speed copper links in server rooms and data centres, and for noisy environments where shielding matters.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Shielded (STP) cable and a grounded, shielded patch panel are needed to get the benefit of the shield. 25G/40G over copper is a data-centre application for short links; ordinary office runs do not need Cat8. This is a 6-pack, not 24. Not sure? Tell us your faceplate or patch panel model and we check it for you.

Singular Expert Insight
Cat8 makes sense for short links between switches and servers in the same rack row; for office desks, Cat6 or Cat6a is enough. Ground the patch panel properly, or the shield can do more harm than good. See our network switches.
