The StarTech.com C8KEYSTP1806PK is a pack of six shielded Cat8 RJ45 keystone jacks. A nickel-plated zinc-alloy shield surrounds the contacts to reduce electromagnetic interference, the cable enters straight from the rear (180°), and termination is toolless. StarTech.com rates the jacks for 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T as well as 10G, 5G, 2.5G and 1G Ethernet, and for PoE up to IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 (100 W). In practice they are for short, high-speed copper links in server rooms and data centres, and for noisy environments where shielding matters.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Shielded (STP) cable and a grounded, shielded patch panel are needed to get the benefit of the shield. 25G/40G over copper is a data-centre application for short links; ordinary office runs do not need Cat8.
