Technicians use it to verify transceivers, switch ports and patch panels during installation and fault isolation; the low-loss 0 dB design gives a clean baseline, with repeatability within 0.2 dB and return loss above 50 dB.

Compatibility note: Single-mode LC/UPC only — it will not suit multimode (OM3/OM4) or APC-polished ports. Long-reach, high-power optics can overload their own receiver on a 0 dB loop, so check the transceiver receive range and add an attenuator if needed.
