StarTech.com 3-in-1 Universal Combination Laptop Lock, 2 m
4-digit combinationK-Slot · Nano · Wedge2 m steel cableKeyless
The StarTech.com UNIVC4D-LAPTOP-LOCK is a keyless 3-in-1 universal laptop lock with a 4-digit resettable combination that fits the standard K-Slot, the Nano Slot and the Noble Wedge slot, with a 2 m cut-resistant carbon steel cable for desks in offices, classrooms, labs and reception areas.
No keys to issue or lose: each user sets their own code, and a dial on the lock head changes the slot type, so the same lock moves with a user from a K-Slot laptop to a Nano or Wedge model.
Before you order: One lock covers three slot types, selected with the rotating dial on the lock head: the standard Kensington K-Slot (T-bar), the Kensington Nano Slot and the Noble Wedge slot. Pull resistance is highest on K-Slot and Nano and lower on Wedge, and may be lower again on slots that do not follow the slot designer standard.
What's in the Box
- 1 x 3-in-1 universal combination laptop lock with 2 m cable
- 3 x bumper spacers
- 1 x hook-and-loop strap
- 1 x quick start guide
What It Means in Practice
- 10,000 user-resettable combinations: suitable for loan laptops and shared desks where the code changes with each user.
- One SKU for HP, Dell, Lenovo and Microsoft devices with a K-Slot, Nano or Noble Wedge slot.
- The 14 mm head on a 360° ball joint and 90° elbow lets the cable leave the laptop in any direction.
- The bumper spacers improve the fit on devices with a recessed area around the slot.
What Will Not Work
- IT override. There is no master key; a forgotten code cannot be opened by an administrator.
- Devices with no security slot (many MacBooks and most tablets).
- Bolt-cutter or prolonged forced attack. A cable lock is a deterrent, not a safe.
- Proprietary or non-standard slots may not reach the published pull force.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The combination version suits small teams and shared desks where handing out keys is impractical. For fleets managed by IT, the master keyed version avoids cutting cables when codes are forgotten. If laptops are docked, many a docking station has its own lock slot that this lock also fits.
✓ Buy it if you want one keyless lock that fits K-Slot, Nano and Wedge devices.
✕ Skip it if IT needs to open every lock with a master key.
