StarTech.com QUAD-USB-DP-ADAPT USB-C to Quad DisplayPort Adapter

4x 4K 60Hz4x DisplayPort 1.4140W PD pass-throughDisplayLink DL7400

The StarTech.com QUAD-USB-DP-ADAPT is a compact USB-C adapter that drives four 4K 60Hz DisplayPort monitors from a single laptop port while passing through up to 140W USB-C Power Delivery. Built on the DisplayLink DL7400 chipset, it also adds a USB-A port for a mouse, keyboard or wireless dongle, making it a travel-size quad-display workstation for finance, engineering and education desks.

Compatibility note: This is a DisplayLink adapter: a driver is required. It installs automatically on most Windows and ChromeOS systems; macOS needs a manual driver install. Video is compressed over USB, which is excellent for office work but not ideal for gaming or fast-moving video. The USB-A and USB-C ports are USB 2.0 (480 Mbps), so they are meant for input devices, not fast storage.

Key Features

Four 4K displays from one port
Four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs at 4K 60Hz 4:4:4, or higher refresh and 8K/10K modes at 4:2:0 on selected outputs.

140W charging pass-through
Connect your USB-C PD charger to the adapter to power the laptop while using all four monitors through one cable.

Compact and deployable
Integrated 30.5 cm USB-C cable, 146 g space grey housing and automatic driver install for Windows/ChromeOS fleets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the QUAD-USB-DP-ADAPT work with a MacBook?
Yes, after installing the DisplayLink driver manually. This is the usual way to run more than one or two external monitors from Apple silicon MacBooks that limit native external displays.
Do my monitors need DisplayPort inputs?
The outputs are DisplayPort 1.4. For HDMI monitors, use active DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapters or cables that support the resolution and refresh rate you need.
Is it suitable for gaming or video editing playback?
It is designed for productivity. DisplayLink compresses video over USB, which works well for spreadsheets, documents and dashboards but can show lag or artefacts in fast games and high-motion video.

Singular Expert Insight

The QUAD-USB-DP-ADAPT is one of the smallest ways to get four 4K screens from a single USB-C port, and the 140W pass-through keeps even power-hungry laptops charged. Choose it for trading, monitoring and engineering desks; for gaming or colour-critical video work, use native DisplayPort MST or a Thunderbolt dock. See docking stations for full desk setups.
✓ Buy it if you need three or four 4K monitors from one USB-C laptop port for office or monitoring work.
✕ Skip it if you game or edit high-motion video, or cannot install drivers on your managed laptop.
→ Also consider a Thunderbolt 4/5 dock with native DisplayPort outputs for driver-free multi-monitor setups.
