The StarTech.com TABLET-VESA-ADAPTER turns any VESA 75×75 or 100×100 monitor arm or stand into a secure tablet mount, holding 7.9" to 12.5" tablets up to 2 kg in a lockable steel clamp.
It is built for reception desks, retail counters, meeting-room booking screens, kiosks and control panels where a tablet has to sit on an arm or stand and must not walk away.
Before you order: The clamp grips tablets 200–340 mm across the corners and up to 12 mm thick; StarTech.com says to remove any protective case first. You need a VESA 75 or 100 arm or stand that can rotate, so the tablet can be levelled — the adapter does not include one.

What It Means in Practice
- Any spare monitor arm or VESA stand becomes a tablet mount — useful for check-in kiosks, POS screens or a second screen next to a monitor.
- The keyed lock on the clamp and tamper-resistant screws make it hard to remove the tablet or the adapter without the key and tool.
- The spring-loaded clamp holds the tablet at opposite corners, so buttons, ports and the front camera remain free and a charging cable can stay plugged in.
- The weighted plate balances gas-spring arms, which are usually tuned for heavier monitors and would otherwise spring upward with a light tablet.
- Locking is optional, so in an office the tablet can be taken out and put back easily.
What Will Not Work
- There is no arm, stand or wall plate in the box — it is an adapter only and needs a VESA 75 or 100 mount.
- Tablets in protective cases, thicker than 12 mm, or outside the 7.9"–12.5" range will not clamp securely.
- It cannot be wall-mounted directly.
- It does not charge the tablet; power still comes from the tablet cable.
