Micro HDMI (Type-D) to HDMI4K 30 Hz, 10.2 GbpsFoil + copper braid shieldLifetime warranty
The StarTech.com Micro HDMI to HDMI Cable, product ID HDADMM50CM, is a 50 cm black lead with a Micro HDMI (Type-D) plug on one end and a full-size HDMI (Type-A) plug on the other — the cable that connects a DSLR, mirrorless camera, action camera, tablet, single-board computer or compact laptop to a monitor, TV or projector. It is an HDMI 1.4b High Speed with Ethernet cable rated at 10.2 Gbps, supporting 4K at 24/25/30 Hz (and 4096x2160 at 24 Hz), Full HD 1080p at 120 Hz, 3D video, 8-channel audio including 5.1/7.1, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD, plus ARC, Deep Color, HDCP 1.4, CEC and YCC601 colour. Construction is 34 AWG with aluminium-mylar foil and a copper braid shield, gold-plated connectors, a fully moulded PVC body and flexible strain relief. StarTech.com backs it with a lifetime warranty. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things to check. First the connector: Micro HDMI is Type-D, the smallest of the three HDMI sizes — it is not Mini HDMI (Type-C), which is noticeably wider, and the two are not interchangeable. Look at the port on your camera or tablet before ordering. Second the bandwidth: this is HDMI 1.4b at 10.2 Gbps, so 4K is limited to 30 Hz and there is no HDR, no HDCP 2.2 and no 4K 60 Hz. For camera monitoring, presentation output and most Micro HDMI devices that is exactly the right specification, because those devices rarely output more; but if you need 4K 60 Hz or HDR from a device with a Micro HDMI port, this cable is not the way to get it. It is passive and backward compatible with earlier HDMI versions.
Key Features
Micro HDMI Type-D to full-size Type-A
Solves the specific problem of a device with a tiny HDMI port and a display with a normal one. Cameras, action cameras, tablets, Raspberry Pi boards and ultracompact laptops use Type-D precisely because a full-size socket will not fit — and none of them ship with a cable long enough to be useful.
4K 30 Hz, 1080p 120 Hz and 8-channel audio
The full HDMI 1.4b feature set at 10.2 Gbps: UHD output for monitoring and playback, high-refresh Full HD, 3D video, and multichannel audio up to Dolby TrueHD. That covers what Micro HDMI source devices actually output.
Aluminium-mylar foil with copper braid shielding
Two shield layers on a 34 AWG cable, which matters more than it sounds: thin cables are electrically fragile, and shielding is what keeps a camera HDMI feed clean when it runs next to a wireless transmitter or a power supply on a rig.
Fully moulded with flexible strain relief
Micro HDMI connectors are small and the cable gets flexed constantly on a camera rig or a handheld device. The moulded body and strain relief are what stop the connector fraying at the neck, which is the standard failure point on this connector type.
50 cm — the right length on a rig
Long enough to run from a camera body to a field monitor mounted on the same cage, or a tablet to a nearby display, short enough not to leave a loop of cable swinging where it can snag or torque the port.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Micro HDMI the same as Mini HDMI?
No, and this is the most common ordering mistake. Micro HDMI is Type-D and is the smaller of the two; Mini HDMI is Type-C and is visibly wider. Neither plug fits the other socket. Cameras and tablets use both depending on the model, so check the port on your specific device rather than the brand.
Will it do 4K at 60 Hz?
No. This is an HDMI 1.4b cable at 10.2 Gbps, which caps 4K at 30 Hz. That is the standard specification for Micro HDMI devices and matches what most cameras and tablets output over that port, but if your device genuinely outputs 4K 60 Hz you need an HDMI 2.0 or later Micro HDMI cable.
Can I use it to output from my camera to a field monitor?
Yes — that is one of its main uses. It carries the camera’s HDMI output to a monitor or recorder at up to 4K 30 Hz. The 50 cm length is sized for a camera cage rather than a room, and the moulded strain relief is there because camera HDMI cables get flexed constantly.
Does it support HDR?
No. HDR over HDMI requires HDMI 2.0a or later signalling and this is a 1.4b cable, so HDR and HDCP 2.2 are outside its specification. It handles Deep Color and YCC601, which is what HDMI 1.4 devices use.
Singular Expert Insight
Micro HDMI is a connector people meet by accident — they buy a camera or a compact laptop, discover the port is a size they have never seen, and need a cable that afternoon. Two things prevent a wasted purchase. Check whether the port is Type-D (Micro, the small one) or Type-C (Mini, the wider one), because they look similar in photographs and are not interchangeable. And set expectations on bandwidth: HDMI 1.4b means 4K at 30 Hz with no HDR, which is the right specification for the devices that actually have Micro HDMI ports and the wrong one if you were hoping for 4K 60. What matters in daily use is the build, because this connector fails at the neck when a cable is flexed on a rig — moulded strain relief and a proper braided shield are worth the difference over a bundled cable. Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You need to get video out of a device with a Micro HDMI (Type-D) port — camera, action cam, tablet, single-board computer — onto a monitor, TV or projector, at up to 4K 30 Hz.
Skip it if
Your device has a Mini HDMI (Type-C) port, or you need 4K 60 Hz, HDR or HDCP 2.2 — none of which an HDMI 1.4b cable provides.
