The StarTech.com PNL9M16, part number PNL9M16, is a 16-inch (40 cm) panel-mount cable that converts a motherboard 10-pin IDC serial header into a panel-mountable DB9 (RS232) serial connector. It lets you fasten a 9-pin serial port to an existing face plate, wall plate or chassis opening, making it easy to expose a built-in COM port and add legacy serial hardware to newer systems. The 10-pin IDC connector follows the Apex/Everex/Intel serial-header pinout.
