StarTech.com 2U Vented Cantilever Shelf — 22" Deep, 23 kg
2U · 19"Vented tray23 kg capacityBlack steel
The StarTech.com CABSHELF22V is a 2U, 22-inch (55.9 cm) deep vented cantilever shelf that mounts to the front rails of a 19-inch rack or cabinet and carries up to 23 kg, for anyone who needs to place deeper non-rack equipment — a desktop PC, NVR, NAS or AV unit — inside a rack.
The deeper tray supports longer devices than standard 1U shelves, and the vented base lets heat escape from equipment that breathes through its underside. The 2U height gives the tray a stiffer profile for the extra depth.
Before you order: it mounts on the front rails only and reaches 56 cm back. Your rack or cabinet must have that much free depth behind the front rails, and the rear door must close with the device and its cables in place.
What's in the Box
- 1 × 2U 22-inch deep rack shelf (black)
- 4 × M6 cage nuts, 4 × M6 screws, 4 × M6 plastic washers
- 1 × instruction manual
What It Means in Practice
- Ventilated tray: a good choice for PCs, NVRs and NAS units that draw air through the base.
- Front-mount only, so it also works in 2-post racks — but with 56 cm depth, keep heavier items near the front.
- The shelf itself takes 2U; add the height of the device on top to plan the rack.
- 23 kg is the stationary load rating: set the equipment down, do not use the shelf as a work surface.
What Will Not Work
- Racks or cabinets with less than about 56 cm of free depth behind the front rails.
- Loads above 23 kg, such as rack UPS units.
- 10-inch racks — the shelf is 19-inch wide.
- Pull-out access — it is a fixed shelf.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Choose the deep vented shelf when the device is long or breathes through its base. If your equipment is short and light, a 1U shelf saves a rack unit; if you need pull-out access, go for an extendible four-point shelf. See all options in our rack accessories.
✓ Buy it if you need to fit deep equipment up to 23 kg in a 19-inch rack with at least 56 cm of depth.
✕ Skip it if your rack or wall cabinet is shallower than 56 cm or the load is above 23 kg.
→ Also consider a 1U 16-inch cantilever shelf for shorter devices, or a heavy-duty four-point shelf for heavier loads.
