The StarTech.com CABSHELF22V is a 2U, 22-inch (55.9 cm) deep vented cantilever shelf that mounts to the front rails of a 19-inch rack or cabinet and carries up to 23 kg, for anyone who needs to place deeper non-rack equipment — a desktop PC, NVR, NAS or AV unit — inside a rack.
The deeper tray supports longer devices than standard 1U shelves, and the vented base lets heat escape from equipment that breathes through its underside. The 2U height gives the tray a stiffer profile for the extra depth.
Before you order: it mounts on the front rails only and reaches 56 cm back. Your rack or cabinet must have that much free depth behind the front rails, and the rear door must close with the device and its cables in place.

What It Means in Practice
- Ventilated tray: a good choice for PCs, NVRs and NAS units that draw air through the base.
- Front-mount only, so it also works in 2-post racks — but with 56 cm depth, keep heavier items near the front.
- The shelf itself takes 2U; add the height of the device on top to plan the rack.
- 23 kg is the stationary load rating: set the equipment down, do not use the shelf as a work surface.

- Racks or cabinets with less than about 56 cm of free depth behind the front rails.
- Loads above 23 kg, such as rack UPS units.
