StarTech ARMDUOSS — Free Standing Dual Monitor Stand
Two screens 15 to 24 in8 kg each, 16 kg totalWeighted base — no clamp5-year warranty
A dual monitor stand that simply stands on the desk — a weighted base, no clamp and no grommet hole, which is the whole reason to choose it. It carries two 15 to 24 inch screens at 8 kg each, up to 16 kg in total, on a fixed horizontal crossbar, and StarTech covers it for five years.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Understand what this is before you order, because it is deliberately not a monitor arm. There is no clamp and no grommet fixing — the stand is free standing on a weighted base measuring 278 x 450 mm. That makes it the right answer for a glass desk, a desk you are not allowed to clamp to, or a hot desk where the stand moves with the person. It also means the base occupies desk space that a clamped arm would not. The crossbar is fixed at 25.2 inches, so the two screens sit side by side at a set spacing; there is no swivel specification published, and height adjustment is manual using a ring on the pole — there is no gas or mechanical spring at all. Set the height once and leave it. Maximum height is 40.5 cm. Screens can be 15 to 24 inches (the 15 in minimum comes from the manual), tilt +/- 15 degrees and rotate a full 360 degrees for portrait. Curved and ultrawide are not published as supported, so if that is what you have, tell us the model and we will check it.
Best For
✓ Glass desks that cannot be clamped
✓ Rented offices and hot desks
✓ Two screens of 24 in or less
✓ Setups that move between desks
✓ Desks with no accessible edge
✓ Portrait and landscape pairs
Key Features
Free standing on a weighted base
No clamp, no drilling, no grommet hole. It stands where you put it and moves when you do, which is exactly what a glass desk or a hot desk needs.
Two screens at 8 kg each
Sixteen kilograms in total across the pair, which comfortably covers 24 inch panels. StarTech publishes both the per-screen and the combined figure.
360 degree rotation on each screen
Either display can go portrait independently — useful for code, documents or long reports beside a landscape screen.
Five-year StarTech warranty
Long cover on a simple, largely mechanical product with few things to fail. Height is set manually rather than by a spring that can lose pressure.

Singular Expert Insight
Free-standing stands are a smaller category than they should be, because the situations that need them are common: glass tops, rented offices, hot desks, and desks with a back panel that defeats a clamp. This is a well-made example with a genuinely long warranty and honest ratings. What you give up is adjustability — no spring, a fixed crossbar and no published swivel means this is a set-and-forget stand rather than something you reposition through the day. If the desk can take a clamp and you want daily movement, a gas-spring dual arm is the better product, and there are several in our monitor arms and stands range. If it cannot, this solves a problem those arms simply cannot.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Your desk cannot be clamped or drilled, and you want two screens of 24 in or less, each up to 8 kg, at a set height.
Skip it if
You want to move the screens through the day, your monitors are larger than 24 in, or desk space is tight.
Also consider
A gas-spring dual arm if the desk can be clamped, or a single free-standing stand if one screen is enough.
