StarTech.com LTLOCKKEY — 2 m Keyed Cable Lock for K-Slot Laptops, Monitors and Docks
K-SlotKeyed · 2 keys2 m cable360° swivel
The StarTech.com LTLOCKKEY is a 2 m keyed security cable lock for devices with a standard Kensington K-Slot, for offices, classrooms and shared spaces that need to tie laptops, monitors and docking stations to the desk.
The cable is 4 mm vinyl-coated steel, the 17 mm zinc-alloy head locks with a simple push, and a 360° swivel joint lets the cable leave the device at any angle. StarTech states it was tested to 265 lb of pulling force.
Before you order: Fits the standard K-Slot only. Many current Lenovo, Dell and HP laptops use the smaller Nano or the trapezoid Noble Wedge slot instead — check the slot shape before ordering, or send us the model.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Laptop security cable lock (2 m)
- 2 × Keys
- 1 × Hook-and-loop cable strap
- 1 × Quick-start guide
What It Means in Practice
- Loop the cable around a desk leg, insert the head into the K-Slot and push to lock — no key needed to lock, only to open.
- The two keys let you keep a spare with IT.
- The hook-and-loop strap keeps the surplus cable tidy when you do not need the full 2 m.
- Works on any device with a K-Slot: laptops, desktops, monitors and many docking stations.
What Will Not Work
- Kensington Nano slots or Noble Wedge slots — for those, choose a universal or Nano-specific lock.
- Devices with no security slot (most MacBooks and many thin laptops).
- Combination (keyless) operation.
- Like every cable lock it deters theft; it is not rated against bolt cutters or power tools.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The LTLOCKKEY is the simple, proven choice when your devices have the classic K-Slot. In mixed fleets with Nano or Wedge slots, use a universal lock instead. Many docking stations also carry a K-Slot, so lock the dock too.
✓ Buy it if your laptops, monitors or docks have a standard K-Slot and you want a keyed lock.
✕ Skip it if your devices use Nano or Wedge slots, or have no slot at all.
→ Also consider Targus DEFCON Ultimate Universal Keyed Cable Lock (K-Slot, Nano and Wedge in one head).
