StarTech.com CABSCREWSM62 — M6 x 12 mm Rack Mounting Screws, 100 Pack
M6 x 12 mm100 pcsPre-installed washersNickel-plated steel
The StarTech.com CABSCREWSM62 is a pack of 100 M6 x 12 mm rack mounting screws with pre-installed washers for fastening equipment in 19" and 10" server racks, network cabinets and enclosures. They are made of nickel-plated steel in a silver finish and fit M6 threaded rails or M6 cage nuts.
The washers are already on the screws, so there are no loose parts to handle while holding a device in place, and they help protect the front panel finish of switches, patch panels and servers from scuffs.
Before you order: These are M6 screws in silver. They will not fit M5 cage nuts or 10-32 threaded rails. StarTech.com also sells a black 100-pack (CABSCRWSM62B) and kits with screws plus cage nuts — this pack contains screws only.
What's in the Box
- 100 x M6 x 12 mm rack mounting screws with pre-installed washers
What It Means in Practice
- A typical 1U or 2U device uses four screws, so one pack covers about 25 devices or a full re-fit of a cabinet.
- 12 mm length suits the common setup of device ear + rack rail + cage nut.
- Pre-installed washers speed up mounting and reduce the risk of dropping small parts inside the cabinet.
- Nickel-plated steel resists corrosion in normal indoor server rooms.
What Will Not Work
- No cage nuts are included — you need M6 cage nuts or M6 threaded rails.
- They do not fit M5 or 10-32 (UNF) holes.
- The silver finish does not match black devices if you want a uniform black front — look at the black version.
- They are not tool-less: a screwdriver is required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most European 19" racks use M6 cage nuts, and screws are the part that goes missing first when devices are moved. Keep a 100-pack in the server room and add matching M6 cage nuts from our Rack Accessories range.
✓ Buy it if you need M6 x 12 mm silver rack screws for M6 cage nuts or threaded rails.
✕ Skip it if your rack uses M5 or 10-32 fixings, or you want black screws.
→ Also consider M6 cage nuts, or a screw + cage nut kit if you are fitting a new cabinet.
Not sure which screws your rack uses? Send us the model of your rack and we will check the thread before you order.
