The StarTech.com RDA1U is a pair of 1U depth-adapter brackets that shift a device's mounting point 4 in (10 cm) forward or back from the rack rail, so equipment with fixed ears can be recessed behind a door or brought forward to line up with other gear. It is useful when a switch, patch panel or KVM does not clear the front door or when rails are set too deep.
On a 4-post rack the adapters carry up to 40 kg; on a 2-post frame the rating is 2.5 kg, so they are best used in 4-post cabinets or for light devices on open frames.
Before you order: The included hardware is 10-32 (imperial) screws and cage nuts, not M6. Mounting holes are square for cage nuts. If your rack uses M6, use your own M6 cage nuts and screws.
