A slim aluminium single arm with two USB-A 5 Gbps ports built into it, so a memory stick or a headset plugs in at the screen rather than behind the desk. It carries 17 to 32 inch displays at 8 kg, supports curved and ultrawide panels as published specifications, and weighs only 2.9 kg itself.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Be clear about the USB before you order, because it is the reason to choose this arm and it comes with a condition. The two ports are pass-through — they extend a port on your computer or dock rather than being a powered hub — and StarTech supplies no upstream cable. You will need a USB-A cable from the arm to your machine, and we can supply one. StarTech publishes no charging specification for them either. On size, the figures need reading in context: the spec table gives 17 to 34 inches while the marketing line says 32 in for 16:9 and 34 for 21:9 ultrawide, and the manual prints 15 to 32 in one place. We publish 17 to 32 inches, with 34 for a 21:9 panel. Fixing is clamp or grommet, both 10 to 50 mm, the grommet through a 10 to 50 mm hole. Note also that this is not the same arm as the plain ARMSLIM, despite the name: that one is steel, reaches 59.6 cm, clamps to 100 mm and carries a ten-year warranty. This one is aluminium, reaches 46.7 cm and is covered for two years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the USB ports work on their own?
No — they are pass-through, so they extend a port on your computer or dock, and StarTech does not include the cable that feeds them. You need a USB-A cable from the arm to your machine. Tell us and we will add one to the order.
Can I charge a phone from them?
StarTech publishes no charging specification for these ports, so we will not promise it. They are documented as 5 Gbps data pass-through. A phone may draw a trickle, but if charging is what you want, a powered hub is the right product.
Is it 32 inches or 34?
Thirty-two for a conventional 16:9 display and 34 for a 21:9 ultrawide, which is narrower and lighter than the diagonal suggests. StarTech’s own documents give 15, 17, 32 and 34 in different places; we publish the conservative reading. Either way the binding limit is 8 kg.
How is it different from the plain ARMSLIM?
More than the name suggests. The ARMSLIM is steel, reaches 59.6 cm, clamps to 100 mm, is TAA compliant and carries a ten-year warranty. This one is aluminium, reaches 46.7 cm, clamps to 50 mm and is covered for two years — but it adds the USB ports and a kilogram of capacity. They are different arms, not variants.
Singular Expert Insight
The USB ports are the whole reason to choose this over a plain arm, and whether they are worth it depends on your desk. If your computer is under the desk or in a dock and you plug things in daily, having two sockets at eye level is a genuine daily convenience — provided you accept that you supply the feeding cable. What you trade for them is real: shorter reach, a narrower clamp range, and a two-year warranty against the plain ARMSLIM’s ten.
