The StarTech.com USB31C2SAT3 is a 1 m USB-C to SATA adapter cable for technicians and IT teams who need to access bare 2.5" or 3.5" SATA SSDs and hard drives from a USB-C laptop or desktop. Part number USB31C2SAT3 uses an ASMedia ASM235CM controller for USB 3.2 Gen 2 transfers at up to 10Gbps with UASP, TRIM, S.M.A.R.T. and hot-swap, and includes a 12 V / 2 A universal power adapter for 3.5" drives.
Compatibility Note: 2.5" drives run from USB bus power; 3.5" drives need the included 12 V power adapter. Optical (ATAPI) drives are not supported, and TRIM over USB is not available on Windows 7 and earlier. No USB-A adapter is included.
