The StarTech PEX8M2E2 is a dual M.2 PCIe SSD adapter card for adding two high-performance M.2 PCIe NVMe or AHCI SSDs to a desktop workstation or server. It uses a high-speed ASM2824 switch, allowing both drives to be accessed through a PCIe x8 or x16 expansion slot without depending on motherboard PCIe bifurcation support. It is a practical upgrade for storage expansion, workstation acceleration, software RAID, scratch disks and high-speed local SSD workflows.
Compatibility Note: This adapter supports M.2 PCIe NVMe and PCIe AHCI M-Key SSDs only. It does not support M.2 SATA SSDs. A PCIe x8 or x16 slot is required for installation.
