The Corporate Traveller, with SafePort x D3O impact protection
Fits laptops up to 15.6"27L expanding to 30L1.46 kgSafePort x D3O protectionTwo bottle holdersSternum strap
The Corporate Traveller is one of the longest-running backpacks in Targus's catalogue and it has quietly grown up: the current revision carries Targus's SafePort protection system with D3O, the impact-absorbing material that stiffens on impact. Around that sits an unusually complete organisation set - a zip-down workstation, a dedicated file compartment with a divider, a removable accessory pouch and two water bottle holders - in a bag that expands from 27 to 30 litres.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Targus rates it for 15.6" laptops and under, with a laptop compartment of 387 x 25 x 265 mm. There is a separate tablet compartment, though Targus does not publish its size on the European product page. A word on the name: this bag is the Corporate Traveller, not a Targus "Classic" or "Classic Clamshell" - those are a different, older line with different part numbers. Some listings, including our own previous one, described it only by size. It is CUCT02BEU, the 15.6" Corporate Traveller Backpack.
Best For
✓ You want serious impact protection - SafePort with D3O rather than plain foam
✓ You need real organisation: a zip-down workstation, a file compartment with a divider, and a removable accessory pouch
✓ You carry two bottles, or a bottle and an umbrella
✓ You want the volume to flex: 27 litres normally, 30 when you need it
✓ You want lockable zipper pulls and a hidden trolley strap for travel
✓ You carry weight and want a sternum strap and a moulded air mesh back panel
Key Features
SafePort protection system with D3O
D3O is a soft material that stiffens instantly under impact. Targus builds it into the laptop compartment as its SafePort system - a meaningful step up from foam padding, and the clearest reason to pick the current revision of this bag.
27 litres expanding to 30
Expandable storage, so the bag is not permanently sized for the worst day of the month.
Zip-down workstation
A panel that folds down to give you pens, styli and business cards without digging through the main compartment.
Dedicated file compartment
A file compartment with a divider and mesh pockets, which is genuinely rare in a backpack at this size and the reason a lot of consultants keep buying this model.
Two water bottle holders and a removable accessory pouch
Two bottle holders on the outside, plus a removable pouch inside for chargers and cables that you can lift straight out when you switch bags.
Lockable zipper pulls and a hidden trolley strap
Lockable pulls for peace of mind in transit, and a hidden trolley strap that attaches to rolling luggage.
Moulded air mesh back panel and sternum strap
A moulded air mesh back panel for airflow and an adjustable sternum strap to stop the straps sliding on a heavy day.

Singular Expert Insight
The single most important thing on this page is the name. CUCT02BEU is the Corporate Traveller, and a number of listings - including our own earlier one - described it either generically by screen size or, worse, as a Targus "Classic Clamshell", which is a different product family altogether. Beyond that, two honest caveats. Targus contradicts itself on the material, with the spec table saying "Poly" and the feature copy saying 1680D ballistic nylon. And the SafePort with D3O language suggests a refreshed revision sold under the same part number as older stock that did not have it - if D3O is the reason you are buying, it is worth confirming the revision on arrival. What is not in doubt is the organisation: a zip-down workstation, a proper file compartment with a divider and a removable accessory pouch is a lot of bag for 1.46 kg.

Skip it if
Skip it if you need an RFID pocket, a USB port or a tracker pocket, none of which Targus publishes for this model. Skip it if recycled content is a requirement - Targus publishes no recycled percentage for the Corporate Traveller. And do not assume the checkpoint-friendly claim: Targus makes it for the US sibling CUCT02B but not on the European page for this part number.
