Targus DEFCON Ultimate — One Keyed Lock for K-Slot, Nano and Wedge Security Slots
3 slot typesKeyed2 m steel cableSilver
The Targus DEFCON Ultimate Universal Keyed Cable Lock (ASP95GL) is a 2 m steel security cable with one adaptable lock head that fits Kensington T-Bar (standard K-Slot), Kensington Nano and Noble Wedge slots, for IT teams and users who need one lock for a mixed fleet of laptops, monitors and docks.
Instead of swapping heads, you turn a dial on the head to match the slot in front of you. The head rotates 360°, and the galvanised, sleeved steel cable is described by Targus as cut-proof and rust-resistant.
Before you order: Check that your device actually has a security slot. Many thin laptops — and almost all MacBooks — have none, and this lock cannot be used on them without a separate slot adapter.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Targus DEFCON Ultimate keyed cable lock with 2 m cable
- Keys — Targus does not publish the number of keys or a master-key option for this model
What It Means in Practice
- One SKU for the whole office: the same lock fits a Lenovo with a Nano slot, a Dell with a Wedge slot and a monitor with a standard K-Slot.
- Loop the 2 m cable around a desk leg or fixed point, insert the head into the slot and lock with the key.
- The 360° head lets the cable leave the device at any angle, so it does not fight with power or USB cables beside the slot.
- Galvanised steel with a protective sleeve resists cutting and does not scratch the desk.
What Will Not Work
- Devices with no security slot (most MacBooks and many ultra-thin laptops).
- Security slots other than Kensington T-Bar (K-Slot), Kensington Nano and Noble Wedge — Targus does not list other slot types.
- Combination (keyless) locking — this is a keyed lock.
- It deters casual theft; like every cable lock, it is not rated against power tools.
