Targus Mobile Elite TBT932GL — 15.6″–16″ Topload Briefcase, Black
Fits 15.6″–16″ laptopsSafePort Sling drop protectionLockable zippersLimited Lifetime Warranty
The Targus Mobile Elite TBT932GL is a black topload briefcase for laptops of 15.6 to 16 inches, built around Targus’s SafePort Sling protection system, which suspends the machine clear of the base of the bag so a hard set-down or a drop is absorbed by the case rather than the laptop. Security is handled by lockable zippers, and the bottom panel is lined with water-resistant PU for the moment you put the case down on wet ground. There are quick-access front pockets, multiple interior pockets, soft carry handles, a removable padded shoulder strap and an integrated trolley strap for rolling luggage. Targus lists it at 46 x 11.5 x 32.5 cm and 0.97 kg, with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The part number is TBT932GL. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Targus rates this for 15.6″ to 16″ laptops and under but does not publish the internal compartment dimensions, so if your machine is unusually thick, measure against the 11.5 cm total case depth. Note that Targus also publishes no material or fabric specification at all for this briefcase — the only material it names anywhere is the water-resistant PU lining on the bottom panel — so any “600D polyester” figure you see on a reseller listing is invented. Three further points: water resistance is the bottom panel only, not the shell; Targus makes no checkpoint-friendly claim; and Targus does not list a tablet compartment for this model, only “multiple interior pockets”. There is no USB port and no published litre capacity.
Best For
✓ Carrying a 15.6″ or 16″ laptop to client meetings
✓ Office environments where a backpack is the wrong register
✓ Travellers who want lockable zips on a case
✓ Sliding a briefcase onto rolling luggage
✓ Anyone who has damaged a laptop by setting a bag down hard
✓ Buyers who want a lifetime warranty rather than two years
Key Features
SafePort Sling suspension
The laptop compartment suspends the machine clear of the bottom of the case, so impact from a drop or a hard set-down is taken by the case structure and padding instead of being passed into the chassis. It is the protection system that defines the Mobile Elite line.
Lockable zippers
The zips accept a small travel padlock, which turns a briefcase left in a hotel room or a shared office from an open invitation into a deterrent. A padlock is not supplied.
Water-resistant bottom panel
The base is lined with water-resistant PU material — the panel that meets wet pavements, station platforms and café floors. Targus does not claim a water-resistant shell, so treat the rest of the case as ordinary fabric.
Carried three ways
Soft carry handles for short distances, a removable padded shoulder strap for longer ones, and an integrated trolley strap that secures the case to rolling luggage. Quick-access front pockets keep a phone, pass or charger reachable without opening the main compartment.

Singular Expert Insight
Mobile Elite is Targus’s protection-first line, and on a topload briefcase that focus makes more sense than it does on a backpack — a case gets set down on hard floors dozens of times a day, and the SafePort Sling is aimed at exactly that. Lockable zips are the second reason to choose it over a generic case. The odd thing is how little Targus publishes here: no material, no capacity, no internal measurements, which is unusual even by Targus standards. If you want spec-sheet certainty, a DICOTA or Kensington case publishes more. If you want the laptop to survive the way you actually treat a bag, this is the better-engineered choice, and the lifetime warranty backs it. Browse the rest of our laptop cases and bags, or the laptops range if you are matching a machine to a case.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You carry a 15.6″ or 16″ laptop in a briefcase rather than a backpack, and you want genuine drop protection, lockable zips, a water-resistant base and a removable shoulder strap, backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Skip it if
You need a water-resistant shell, a dedicated tablet compartment, a published material or capacity figure, or a checkpoint-friendly design. Targus publishes none of these for this case.
Also consider
Targus Mobile Elite TBB618GL if you would rather carry the same protection on your back, a Kensington SP40 for a simpler and cheaper 15.6″ toploader, or a DICOTA Eco Multi COMPACT for a lockable clamshell with a 12.9″ tablet pocket.
