The Techly IADAP-DVI-9100 is a passive analog adapter with a DVI-I 24+5 female socket on one side and a VGA (HD-15) male plug on the other, for connecting DVI-I/DVI-A analog signals to VGA equipment.
Techly describes it as a DVI analog to VGA female/male adapter that keeps the signal intact between devices. Typical use: plug it into the VGA port of a monitor, projector or KVM switch so that a DVI-I or DVI-A cable can be connected. It works because DVI-I carries the same analog RGB signal as VGA on its extra four pins.
Before you order: Analog only. It works only when the DVI side carries an analog signal (DVI-I or DVI-A). A DVI-D (digital-only) port or cable, HDMI or DisplayPort will NOT give a picture through this adapter.
