Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT Single-Tower CPU Air Cooler
Single-Tower Air7 Heatpipes140mm TY-147B FanNear-Silent
The Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT is a large, high-performance single-tower CPU air cooler renowned for near-silent operation. Seven nickel-plated 6mm heatpipes and a 35-fin C1100 copper-base heatsink pair with the included TY-147B 140mm PWM fan, which runs as low as 14 dBA. Standing 159mm tall and weighing 900g, it delivers premium cooling with minimal noise. Sold as Le Grand Macho RT, it targets quiet enthusiast and workstation builds. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Mounts on Intel LGA775, 115x, 1156, 1200, 1366, 2011, 2011-3 and 2066, plus AMD AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/AM4 and FM1/FM2/FM2+. Note it does not include LGA1700 or AM5 mounting in its standard kit, so check your platform. At 159mm tall and 900g it is a large cooler — confirm your case cooler-height limit and good motherboard support.
Best For
✓Silent-focused enthusiast and workstation builds
✓Users prioritising low noise over RGB
✓Cases with generous cooler clearance (~162mm)
✓Older to recent Intel (up to LGA2066/1200) platforms
✓AMD AM4 and earlier socket builds
✓Heavy sustained workloads at minimal noise
Key Features
Seven-Heatpipe Tower
Seven 6mm nickel-plated heatpipes and a 35-fin stack on a C1100 copper base give this cooler large-tower thermal capacity for demanding CPUs.
Near-Silent TY-147B Fan
The included 140mm TY-147B fan runs 300-1,300 RPM (16.9-73.6 CFM) at just 14-20 dBA on a fluid-dynamic bearing — among the quietest air cooling available.
Premium Build
Nickel-plated copper base and precision fins reflect Thermalright’s focus on cooling performance and long-term durability.
Ready to Run
Ships with the TY-147B fan and mounting hardware, so it works out of the box for supported Intel and AMD sockets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Le Grand Macho RT include a fan?
Yes. It ships with Thermalright’s near-silent 140mm TY-147B PWM fan, so it is ready to run out of the box.
How quiet is it?
Very. The TY-147B fan runs at just 14-20 dBA across its 300-1,300 RPM range, making this one of the quietest high-performance air coolers available.
Which sockets does it support?
Intel LGA775 through 2066 and 1200, plus AMD AM2 through AM4 and FM sockets. Its standard kit does not include LGA1700 or AM5 mounting.
Will it fit my case?
It stands 159mm tall and is a wide, heavy cooler, so confirm your case cooler-height limit and that the board area around the socket is clear before ordering.
Singular Expert Insight
The Le Grand Macho RT is built around silence: its huge fin area lets the TY-147B fan spin slowly and quietly while still cooling strongly. It is ideal for quiet builds on supported sockets, but for the newest LGA1700/AM5 platforms you should confirm mounting or pick a current-generation tower. Compare options in our CPU coolers range, and make sure your power supply build leaves clearance for a large 159mm tower.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want one of the quietest high-performance air coolers for a supported Intel or AMD (AM4 and earlier) build.
Skip it if
You run a current LGA1700 or AM5 platform without a compatible mounting kit, or your case cannot fit a large tower.
Also consider
A current-generation tower with native LGA1700/AM5 support, or a 240/360mm AIO for the newest hot CPUs.
