The TP-Link TL-POE4824G is a gigabit passive PoE adapter with a built-in power supply. It takes data from a switch or router on its shielded Data In port and sends data plus 48 V passive power at up to 24 W over one cable to a device up to 100 m away. It plugs straight into 100–240 V AC mains with a power cord, so there is no separate power brick, and a wall-mounting kit is included. In practice it is the power source for access points and other equipment that are specified for 48 V passive PoE, where the switch has no suitable PoE.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Passive 48 V — not 802.3af/at. Passive PoE is always on: it does not check the device first. Connect only devices that the maker specifies for 48 V passive PoE; it can damage equipment that is not made for PoE, and it will not start standard 802.3af/at devices that expect negotiation. For those, choose the TL-POE150S (802.3af) or TL-POE160S (802.3at). For 24 V passive devices, TP-Link has the TL-POE2412G. Send us your device model and we confirm the right injector.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it the same as an 802.3af injector?
No. It supplies passive 48 V all the time, without detecting the device. Use it only with devices made for 48 V passive PoE.
Can I power a normal PoE access point with it?
Only if the maker lists 48 V passive PoE for that model. Standard 802.3af/at access points need an 802.3af/at injector such as the TL-POE150S or TL-POE160S.
Does it need a separate power adapter?
No. The power supply is built in; you connect it to the mains with the included power cord.
Does it support gigabit?
Yes. The Data In and PoE Out ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps.
